Flat Roofs in Essex and Upminster
complete end-to-end service
Flat roofs are a popular choice among our customers in Essex and Upminster. Here at DV Roofing & Repairs, we have fitted many flat roofs to private homes and business premises alike. It is not hard to understand why they are in such demand. Flat roofs are quick and easy to install and require little in the way of maintenance. They are also very cost effective, making them popular among customers on a tight budget. However, perhaps the most common reason for fitting a flat roof is that its strong and durable surface can be easily converted into a roof-top terrace or roof garden. Whatever your reason for wanting a flat roof, we can provide you with a first-rate installation.
From our base in Upminster, our team of professional roofers cover a 25-mile radius. This takes in vast areas of Essex and the towns of Billericay, Brentwood, Hainault, Havering, Hornchurch, Hutton, Ingatestone, Romford, Shenfield, Upminster and Warley.
High-quality Flat Roofs in Essex and Upminster
Here is what you can expect from our team of professional roofers…
Laying the Roof Deck
The first thing we do is install strong and sturdy roof joists in the space where your new roof will be. Normally made of heavy timber, these will support the roof deck when we lay it down, distributing its weight across the network of joints. We ensure the roof is a tight fit before trimming and sealing the edges.
Three-Layer Flat Roofs
The traditional way of sealing and protecting a flat roof is with multiple layers of bitumen-infused roofing felt. This is put down one layer at a time, with the bitumen being melted with a gas torch to create a permanent seal. This process is repeated until we are satisfied your roof is watertight, with three layers normally being enough.
Fibreglass Flat Roofs
An alternative to torch-on roofing felt is a liquid fibreglass solution. This is poured and spread onto the deck of your flat roof, where it is left to cure and harden, forming a single protective layer. Once set, additional layers of fibreglass can be added for greater protection. This roof covering is highly-durable, being both weather and wear resistant.
Flat Roof Repairs
As durable and hard-wearing as our various sealing methods are, it is still possible for flat roofs to suffer damage. Since this typically involves breaching the waterproof layer, action needs to be taken quickly to prevent leaks and damp. Our team of professional roofers will be able to patch and repair any damage in no time at all.
